The setting of the story Gone is in a small town called Perdido Beach in Alabama, USA. What happened is that every person age 15 and above disappears suddenly, leaving only young children. A sphere forms around the town and some of the surrounding area. The whole of the first book is set inside of this where the kids need to survive. The area around the town includes a big beach that leads out to the sea where the ocean is suddenly cut off by the border. There is also a school for troubled kids called Coates Academy. There is also a surrounding forest not far from the town. Another important part of the setting is a big island that is discovered which used to belong to a wealthy couple with a big mansion on it.

Protagonist and Antagonist
Protagonist is when the person is for a certain thing
Antagonist is when a person is against a certain thing
The protagonist in the story so far is Sam Temple who is also the hero. He is for the good of the citizens and is trying to support everyone. His heroic act at the start of the book was when he attempted to save a girl from her house that had caught on fire. He then went and took charge of the scared and worried kids.
The antagonist in the novel is Caine, he is against the town of Perdido beach. He is also against the mutants (the people with powers) even though he is one himself. He has done stuff like cover their hands in concrete so the could not use their powers.

Gone - Micheal Grant
For my dystopian book I chose the book Gone by Micheal Grant. It is about a small town in America called
Perdido Beach, one day all people over the age of 15 disappear and a dome forms around the town.
Sam (the main character) has suddenly found himself as the kids leader, he has become allies with Caine,
a boy from Coates academy (A school for troubled kids) Who he does not trust. The dome that has been
brought up has caused some problems suddenly there are all sorts of mutant animals such as talking
coyotes and swimming bats, on top of all this a number of kids have gotten powers such as healing,
teleportation and super speed, some powers stronger than others. Sam and the rest of Perdido beach are
fighting for their lives. They are being attacked by everyone who isn't them, food sources are running low
and they need to find a way to sustain themselves. Many kids have died and many more will.
